    Questions & answers

Lifting the vehicle with the jack — Volkswagen Golf Mk7

Where are the Golf Mk7 jack points?
Marked by notches in the body sill: one behind each front wheel arch and one in front of each rear wheel arch. Place the jack head exactly in the notch.
Can I use the Golf Mk7 jack on any surface?
Only on firm, level ground. On soft ground the jack can sink or tilt. Place a large, flat board under the jack base if the ground is not hard enough.
How high should I jack the Golf Mk7?
Just enough for the wheel to clear the ground — approximately 2–3 cm. Jacking higher than necessary increases the risk of the car falling off the jack.
Can I go under the Golf Mk7 while on the jack?
Never. The vehicle jack is for wheel changes only. To work underneath, use axle stands placed at approved support points.
