Using torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-, this page covers removing the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 door arrester (check strap), described for the left side — starting with removing the front door trim and the self-adhesive insulation panel behind it.

Removing and installing door arrester

–  Remove front door trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove self-adhesive cover or front loudspeaker → Communication; Rep. gr.91.
–  Unscrew bolt -2- in A-pillar.
–  Unscrew bolts -3- and remove door arrester -1- through the opening of the loudspeaker -arrow a-.

 
Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.
Specified torques
Door arrester → Chapter „Assembly overview - door“
