Volkswagen Golf Mk7 Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing aerial amplifier -R24-/-R93-/-R84-

Using torque wrench -V.A.G 1783-, this page covers removing aerial amplifier -R24- — Note: amplifiers -R93- and -R84- follow a similar procedure.

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
Torque wrench -V.A.G 1783-
  Note
Removal and installation of aerial amplifier -R24- are described. Removal and installation of aerial amplifier 2 -R93- and aerial amplifier 3 -R84- are carried out in the same way.
Removing
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers, and remove ignition key.
Aerial amplifier -R24-/aerial amplifier 3 -R84- is located on top left of rear lid.
–  Remove rear lid trim (top) → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
Aerial amplifier 2 -R83- is located on bottom right of rear lid.
–  Remove rear lid trim (bottom) → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
 

Removing and installing aerial amplifier -R24-/-R93-/-R84-

–  Release and detach connectors -arrows- on aerial amplifier -R24-.
 

Removing and installing aerial amplifier -R24-/-R93-/-R84-

–  Loosen securing bolt -arrow-.
–  Pull out bolt with plate clamp and aerial amplifier -R24-.
 

Removing and installing aerial amplifier -R24-/-R93-/-R84-

–  Push aerial amplifier -R24- in direction of arrow.
–  Remove aerial amplifier -R24-.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal. When doing this, note the following:
