Remove front door trim
→ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70. |

Remove loudspeaker
→ Communication; Rep. gr.91. |

Detach cable from window regulator. |

Remove door window
→ Chapter. |

Removing window regulator motor

Release locking hook of cable drum -4-
and insert into door. |

Unscrew hexagon nuts -5- and insert
threaded studs of window regulator into door. |

Loosen hexagon nuts -2-, do not remove. |

Slightly push window regulator upwards in door
-arrow a- and guide into door -arrow b-. |

Turn window regulator -1- through 90°
and guide through opening in door -arrow c-
to remove. |

Insert window regulator -1- through
opening in door -arrow a- and move to
mounting position. |

Insert threaded studs of window regulator into door skin

Press cable drum against door inner part -4-
until looking hooks engage audibly. |

Secure cable to window regulator. |

Install window regulator motor

Removing and installing window regulator — Volkswagen Golf Mk7
How do I remove the Golf Mk7 front window regulator?
Remove the door trim, disconnect the motor, support the glass, detach the glass from the regulator carrier, unbolt the regulator and remove it from the door.
Do I need to support the Golf Mk7 door glass when removing the regulator?
Yes. Once detached from the regulator carrier, the glass can fall inside the door and shatter. Tape it in the up position or use a wedge.
