Requiring the dual clutch and engagement mechanism already removed, this page uses oil seal extractor -T10420- and thrust piece -T10421- to renew the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 inner input shaft oil seal.

| Oil seal extractor -T10420- |

|
|
| There are 2 oil seals in gearbox at clutch end. Both oil
seals can be renewed without dismantling the gearbox. If only
the oil seals are being renewed, it is not necessary to adjust
the clutch engagement mechanism. |

Unscrew spindle of oil seal extractor -T10420-. |
| – |
Screw oil seal extractor -T10420- into
»small«, inner oil seal. Push on puller when screwing in. |
Note
| Puller will become very tightly clamped when turning oil
seal. |

Screw puller in until the seal begins to turn in its seat. |

Pull out oil seal using spindle. |
|
|
|

Drive in new oil seal using thrust piece -T10421- (drive in
until thrust piece contacts stop). |
| Installation depth of seal: 17.5 ± 0.2 mm |
