1 -  Cap
Screw in until engages audibly
Secured to tank flap unit by means of retaining strap.
2 -  Earth connection
For fuel filler neck
3 -  Bolt
Renew after removing
8 Nm + 90°
4 -  Locking ring
110 Nm ± 5 Nm
5 -  Seal
Renew.
Install dry.
6 -  Fuel delivery unit
Assembly overview → Chapter.
Removing and installing → Chapter.
With fuel gauge sender -G-.
Removing and installing fuel gauge sender -G- → Chapter.
With fuel system pressurisation pump -G6-.
Checking fuel system pressurisation pump -G6- → Chapter.
7 -  Fuel tank
Removing and installing → Chapter.
8 -  Heat shield
For fuel tank
9 -  Locking plate
Qty. 4.
For heat shield.
10 -  Securing strap
Ensure proper seating.
Mark direction of travel when removing.
11 -  Bolt
Renew after removing
20 Nm + 90°
12 -  Bracket
For fuel pump control unit -J538-.
Removing and installing fuel pump control unit -J538- → Chapter.
13 -  Bracket
For metering pump -V54-.
Make sure metering pump -V54- is securely fastened in bracket.
14 -  Fuel supply line
Clipped onto fuel tank
Do not kink
To pull off, press release button on connection.
Plug-in connectors must engage »audibly« when joined.
Ensure plug-in connector is secured properly by pulling it.
Disconnect plug-in connectors → Chapter
15 -  Fuel line
For vehicles with auxiliary heater: from auxiliary heater metering pump -V54-.
Do not kink
Installation position → Auxiliary heater, supplementary heater; Rep. gr.82.
Ensure connections are secured properly by pulling.
16 -  Metering pump -V54-
For vehicles with auxiliary heater.
Secured to fuel tank → Item.
