Release Bowden cable -1--arrow c- and
remove from Bowden cable coupling -2-. |

| In order to be able to remove or install the Bowden cable
-3-, remove the support arm

- If the Bowden cable -3- is not removed
from mounting bracket, the Bowden cable -1-
unhooks again and again when installing the Bowden cable coupling

- The bonnet cannot be opened in this case

How do I remove the Golf Mk7 bonnet Bowden cable?
Open the bonnet, remove the release lever, detach the cable from the mounting bracket and clutch mechanism, pull the grommet from the bulkhead and withdraw the cable.
Can the Golf Mk7 Bowden cable stretch over time?
Yes. A stretched cable may make the bonnet release feel slack or not open the latch fully. Replace if the bonnet becomes difficult to release.
Clamp gas strut in vice in area x = 50 mm.
