Volkswagen Golf Mk7 Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter -R178-/-R179-

Note: described for the negative-wiring filter -R178- on the right side; the positive-wiring filter -R179- follows similarly. This page covers removing the FM frequency filters.

Removal and installation of the frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter in negative wiring -R178- are described for the right side. Removal and installation of the frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter in positive wiring -R179- for the left side are carried out in the same way.
Removing
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers, and remove ignition key.
–  Remove rear lid trim (top) → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
   
–  Release and detach connectors -arrows- on frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter.
 

Removing and installing frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter -R178-/-R179-

–  Carefully lever out frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter in area of -arrow- with a suitable tool.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal. When doing this, note the following:
–  Press frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter into assembly aperture until it engages.
