Remove front seat
→ Chapter. |

Secure front seat on seat repair stand
→ Chapter. |

Remove backrest cover and backrest padding
→ Chapter. |

Release and pull off connectors -1 and
2- on motors. |
WARNING

| Vehicles with entry assistance |

Cut through cable tie for Bowden cable for backrest release
mechanism. |

|
|
| Continued for all vehicles |

Swing lumbar support -1- at
bottom towards front. |
| – |
Detach lumbar support -1- on
top from backrest frame -2--arrows-
and remove it. |
| Install in reverse order, but note the following: |

Attach lumbar support -1- on
top to backrest frame -2--arrows-
and swing toward rear at bottom. |

Rivet lumbar support to backrest frame. |

How do I remove the Golf Mk7 lumbar support motor?
Use pop rivet pliers -V.A.G 1753B-, hand drill and safety goggles. Remove seat, strip backrest cover, drill out rivets and extract the motor.
