Remove moulded headliner
→ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70. |

Remove glass panel
→ Chapter. |

Mark the position -4- of the guide
rails -1- on assembly frame

Low guide rails -1- at rear

Pull guide rails -1- off assembly
carrier -2-, keeping them parallel with
each other -arrow b-. |
Note
| Do not twist or bend the guide rails and securing bracket as
there is no strut in the front area. |

Push guide rails -1- into assembly
carrier -2-, keeping them parallel to each
other. |

Fit guide rails -1- on assembly frame
at rear. |

Insert bolts -2- and tighten slightly. |

Align guide rails -1- in accordance
with the marking made previously -6-. |

Further installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. |

What is the Golf Mk7 sunroof guide plate?
A component that integrates the guide rails, securing brackets, cables and tilting mechanism into one unit. The cables and tilt mechanism cannot be replaced separately.
Can the Golf Mk7 sunroof cables be replaced individually?
No. The cables are integrated into the guide plate assembly. If a cable fails, the entire guide plate must be replaced.
