1 -  Fuel delivery unit
With fuel system pressurisation pump -G6-.
With integrated fuel filter; cannot be renewed individually.
With integrated pressure limiting valve; cannot be renewed individually.
Check electric fuel pump → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
Removing and installing → Chapter.
2 -  Seal
Renew.
Install dry.
3 -  Locking ring
Remove and tighten with wrench -T10202-.
110 Nm
4 -  Fuel pump control unit -J538-
Not fitted in vehicles with engine code CWVA
Check in Guided fault finding → Vehicle diagnostic tester
Removing and installing → Chapter
5 -  Electrical connector
For fuel pump control unit -J538-.
Ensure proper engagement; check if connector is engaged correctly by pulling.
6 -  Electrical connector
For fuel system pressurisation pump -G6- and fuel gauge sender -G-.
Ensure proper engagement; check if connector is engaged correctly by pulling.
7 -  Fuel supply line
To engine.
Do not kink
To pull off, press release button on connection.
Plug-in connectors must engage »audibly« when joined.
Ensure plug-in connector is secured properly by pulling it.
Disconnect plug-in connectors → Chapter
8 -  Fuel gauge sender -G-
Checking → Vehicle diagnostic tester
Removing and installing → Chapter.

 
     
Installation position of fuel delivery unit
The arrow -3- on the fuel tank must line up with the mark -2- on the sealing flange -1-.
