Volkswagen Golf Mk7 Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing door arrester

Using torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-, this page covers removing the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 rear door arrester (left side described; right is similar) — starting with removing the rear door trim.

Removal and installation are only described for the left door retaining strap. The right side is similar.

Removing and installing door arrester

–  Remove rear door trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
–  Pull off self-adhesive cover.
  For models without loudspeaker pull off self-adhesive cover and remove door retaining strap through opening for loudspeaker -arrow c-.
  For models with loudspeaker detach inner door cover → Chapter and remove through this opening.
–  Unscrew bolt -2- on B-pillar.
–  Remove screws -3- and remove door retaining strap -1-.

 
Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.
Specified torques
  → Chapter „Assembly overview - door“
