Volkswagen Golf Mk7 Owners Manual: Indicator lamp in the vehicle key

Fig. 24 points to the small indicator lamp built into the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 key. A brief press of any button makes it flash once to confirm the signal was sent; pressing and holding a button — for convenience opening, for example — makes it flash several times. First read and observe the introductory information and safety warnings 

If a button on the vehicle key is pressed briefly, the indicator lamp   (arrow) flashes once. The lamp will flash several times if the button is pressed and held, e.g. convenience opening.

If the indicator lamp in the key does not light up when a button is pressed, the battery in the key should be replaced   .
