This assembly overview covers the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 water deflector (right side shown; left is similar) and its retaining strip — removed by drilling out rivet heads and cutting through the rivet shanks with pop rivet pliers.

Assembly overview - water deflector

1 -  Water deflector
  • Removing and installing → Chapter
2 -  Retaining strip
–  During removal, drill out rivet heads and chop through rivet shanks.
3 -  A-pillar
4 -  Pop rivet
  • Qty. 5
  • Insert with pop rivet pliers -VAS 5072-
5 -  Clip
  • Position clip in wing hole and press forwards, afterwards turn through 90°
6 -  Wing
  • Removing and installing → Chapter
