With the engine cold, this page covers removing the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 radiator outlet coolant temperature sender -G83- — release residual pressure at the expansion tank first, then remove the noise insulation.

Removing Engine cold

–  Briefly open cap of coolant expansion tank -arrow- in order to release residual pressure in the cooling system, then tighten the cap again until it engages. –  Remove noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.66.

–  Disconnect electrical connector -2-.   Note Place a cloth underneath to catch escaping coolant. –  Pull off retaining clip -1- and pull radiator outlet coolant temperature sender -G83- out of connection -3-. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:   Note Renew O-ring. Insert new coolant temperature sender -G62- immediately into connection in order to avoid loss of coolant. –  Install front noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.66. –  Check coolant level → Anchor.
